The first and only SLIT tablet recommended by NICE for adults and children with allergic rhinitis caused by house dust mites1

ACARIZAX® is the only licensed treatment for house dust mite respiratory allergy.
A disease modifying sub lingual tablet ACARIZAX® is indicated in adult patients ( 18-65 years) diagnosed by clinical history and a positive test of house dust mite (HDM) sensitisation (skin prick test and/or specific IgE) with at least one of these conditions: persistent moderate to severe HDM allergic rhinitis despite use of symptom-relieving medication, or HDM allergic asthma not well controlled by inhaled corticosteroids and associated with mild to severe HDM allergic rhinitis. Patients’ asthma status should be carefully evaluated before the initiation of treatment. Indicted in children (5-17 years) diagnosed by clinical history and a positive test of house dust mite sensitisation (skin prick test and/or specific IgE) with persistent moderate to severe house dust mite allergic rhinitis despite use of symptom relieving medication.

When to start using ACARIZAX®?

Due to the perennial nature of house dust mite allerg you can start with ACARIZAX® throughout the year. The clinical effect of a treatment occurs as early as 8-14 weeks after the start of treatment.2

Contraindications and special warnings

Asthma is a known risk factor for severe systemic allergic reactions. Patients with FEV1 < 70% of the predicted value (after adequate pharmacological treatment) at initiation of treatment and patients who have had severe asthma worsening within the past 3 months should not be treated with ACARIZAX®.2 In addition, there are contraindications in patients with active or poorly controlled autoimmune diseases, immune dysfunctions, immunodeficiencies, immunosuppression or malignant neoplastic diseases with current clinical relevance.2 Expect mild to moderate local allergic reactions to occur within the first few days and subsiding with continued treatment (1-3 months). For most events, the reaction should be expected to start within 5 minutes after intake and abate after minutes to hours. More severe oropharyngeal allergic reactions may occur. Treatment with ACARIZAX® should be discontinued and a physician should be consulted immediately in case of severe allergic reactions, severe exacerbation of asthma, angioedema, difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing, voice changes, or hypotension.2
