Adrenaline for anaphylaxis

Adrenaline should be used without delay at the first signs of a severe allergic reaction or when anaphylaxis is suspected.1 It acts on adrenergic receptors to:

  • counter vasodilation
  • reduce airway swelling
  • relieve bronchospasm
  • help restore blood pressure and blood flow to vital organs.1

What is EURneffy®?

FAQ

Foods, insect stings or bites, and medicinal products are among the most common triggers. Some patients experience idiopathic or exercise-induced anaphylaxis. Symptoms can develop rapidly and may affect the airways, skin, gastrointestinal tract and cardiovascular system.1

Adrenaline should be used without delay at the first signs of a severe allergic reaction or when anaphylaxis is suspected. Severe allergic reactions can progress rapidly, so prompt treatment is important.¹ Delays in treatment have been associated with poorer outcomes.1

EURneffy® delivers adrenaline intranasally2, while auto-injectors deliver adrenaline by intramuscular injection4.

Patient needs can change, particularly in children and young people. Reviewing treatment helps ensure the dose remains appropriate as weight and age change and may not always align with current prescribing.3

EURneffy® is for immediate use in a suspected anaphylactic reaction. It delivers a single dose of adrenaline as a ready-to-use nasal spray.2

Place the tip of EURneffy® into one nostril and press the plunger. No priming is required. EURneffy® delivers a single dose of adrenaline as a nasal spray.2

Patients should always carry two EURneffy® nasal sprays. A second dose may be needed if symptoms persist or do not improve after the first dose.2

No. EURneffy® requires no special storage conditions. If the device freezes, thaw it for 1 hour before use. This does not affect the shelf life.2
