According to Article 12 of the General Data Protection Regulation, we must provide you with certain information when we process information about you. This Privacy Policy is directed to Health Care Professionals that have signed up on the ALK Healthcare Website and have given consent to ALK-Abelló A/S contacting you to give you information about ALK products and/or services.

ALK-Abelló A/S respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy notice will inform you as to how we collect, process, and share your personal data to communicate with you in your capacity as health care professional.

2. The purposes for processing of your personal data

The purposes for collecting this information on you are:

a. to enable us to proactively communicate and provide information to healthcare professionals regarding additional and/or update of content on ALK Pro UK such as medical scientific information, materials, events, webinars, and educational activities.

b. to enable us to proactively communicate to healthcare professionals regarding potential interest in medical scientific collaboration and dissemination.

c. Use of personal data to facilitate and support healthcare professionals’ participation in webinars

To host our webinars, we use the webinar system BigMarker. When you register for a webinar, we collect personal data from you. Your name and email address are shared with BigMarker in order to enable your participation. This data is used to manage your participation in the webinar, such as providing a personalized participation link and, where applicable, sending a reminder or follow-up communication after the webinar has ended, as well as for analytical purposes.

Legal basis: The processing is necessary for us to deliver the webinar to you and is therefore based on GDPR Article 6(1) (b)

Recipients
We share your personal data with our service providers who support the delivery of our webinars. BigMarker acts as a data processor on behalf of ALK and processes personal data solely in accordance with ALK’s documented instructions.

In addition, we may disclose your personal data to BigMarker as part of the service provided to you. This disclosure is carried out based on our legitimate interest in administering and delivering the webinar, in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

3. The legal basis for processing of your personal data

The legal basis for our processing of your personal data for the above purposes a. and b. is your consent, cf. the UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a).

The legal basis for our processing of your personal data to deliver the webinar is based on UK GDPR Article 6 (1)(b).

4. Data sources

The information we process we have received from you, when you interact with us at our website, or when we communicate with each other.

We may also collect data from publicly available sources such as websites, publication, media coverage, or from third-party providers, such as reference databases such as OneKey.  

5. Categories of personal data processed

To communicate with you on subject which we believe may have you interest we may process the following personal information:

  • name, e-mail, telephone number, postal address
  • organization you work form and professional information
  • educational information, qualifications and publications
  • survey data, including your responses and additional information you may have chosen to provide
  • we will also process information about the communications we have had and seminars, training and other events you have attended at our invitation

6. Transfer of personal data

a.      ALK employees and external processors 

The recipients of your personal data will be employees of entities belonging to the ALK Group and external processors providing specific services and processing personal data on our behalf. They will receive your personal data only on a ‘need­ to-know· basis, subject to confidentiality obligations and after signing appropriate legal agreements.

In addition, we may disclose your personal data to BigMarker as part of the service provided to you. This disclosure is carried out based on our legitimate interest in administering and delivering the webinar, in accordance with UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f).

b.      Independent third parties 

When needed, we may disclose your personal data to independent third parties, such as attorneys, public authorities, or third­ party auditors. In other situations, such as when using external shipment or payment providers, you will be involved in the process and, where relevant, offered choices regarding the transaction or payment method.

c.      Transfers of data from EU/EEA to third countries 

If we share data from the EU/EEA with a company or ALK affiliate in a third country, we will apply contractual clauses that meet EU standards to ensure the receiving company handles personal data appropriately, unless the country where the company operates is already deemed by the EU to offer an adequate level of data protection. 7. Retention period

Your personal data will be deleted when we no longer have a legitimate purpose to process it, or if you withdraw your consent, whichever comes first.

The General Data Protection Regulation gives you rights in relation to our processing of your personal data. If you wish to make use of your rights, please contact us by using the information stated in section 1.

a. Right to access 

You can request access to the personal data that we have registered about your, as well as a range of additional information.

b. Right to rectification 

You have the right to have inaccurate personal information about you corrected.

c. Right to erasure 

Above you can read about our retention period. In particular cases, you may have the right to have personal data about you erased before our general deletion deadline occurs.

d. Right to restriction of processing 

In certain cases, you may have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data. If you are entitled to restriction, we may only process the information – apart from storage – with your consent, or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims, or to protect a person or important public interests.

e. Right to object 

You have the right to object about our processing of your personal data. If you withdraw your consent, your personal data will be erased, cf. also above regarding the right to erasure.

f. Right to data portability 

In certain cases, you have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and to have these personal data transferred from one data controller to another without hindrance.

9. Right to lodge a complaint
